Study Abroad

Pack your passport—and leave your comfort zone
Studying abroad is more than a chance to travel — it’s an opportunity to take your creativity global. Whether you're sketching in historic piazzas, exploring sustainable urban design, or attending performances in world-class venues, you'll experience learning in ways that a traditional classroom just can’t provide.
You’ll gain fresh ideas, meet new people, and build confidence while exploring inspiring places, all with the guidance of a faculty expert. Whether you're traveling for a few weeks or an entire semester, study abroad is more than just a trip — it’s a chance to grow as a student, a creator, and a global citizen.

Study abroad from home in the Appalachian Futures Lab
Architecture students can now research and study design, history, and theory in an immersive environment right in their own backyard through the Appalachian Futures Lab.
Each semester, students take on a project that will impact a community, engaging with residents and creating designs that support economic development and preservation efforts.
Past projects have taken place in the coal town of Pocahontas, Virginia, and the African American community of Sewanee, Tennessee.
