Check out our campus visit bucket list
If you’re serious about a particular college, then you should also get serious about a campus visit. That’s the best way to get a feel for the campus and see if it’s right for you. Schedule your visit to the College of Architecture, Arts, and Design today!
If you want to see the campus in full swing, come on a weekday in the fall or spring. Looking for a more laid-back approach? Then summer is a good time. Just remember that there will be fewer activities happening in and around campus.
☑ Peek inside a studio in Cowgill Hall, the home base for architecture students. The energy is real and messy, but in a good way.
☑ Wander the legendary underground studio space of Burchard Hall.
☑ Visit the current exhibit in the Armory Art Gallery.
☑ Check out the acoustics in the performance venues at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech.
☑ Look in or around a makerspace to see students bringing their ideas to life (just ask if it’s OK to come in).
☑ Visit the Creative and Innovation District and see the space that could be your home.
☑ Snap a photo in front of Burruss Hall, the iconic campus building.
☑ Sketch on the Drillfield or pick a campus building that inspires you.
Don’t overlook the financial side of college
Applying for admission and visiting campuses will take up a lot of your time, but don’t forget about researching costs. Finding the college that’s right for you means finding the place that’s the right fit for your family’s finances, too.
Delve into the cost of attendance when you’re discovering majors and develop a plan and timeline for applying for financial aid and scholarships.
